Sarah & Steve - September 17, 2011

September 17th, 2011: The fairytale wedding of Sarah and Steve happened on the most perfect fall day. We were blessed to be surrounded by this beautiful couple, their darling daughter and all of their great friends and family. Each and every moment was inspiring and not a detail was left undone. Sarah and Steve really got to enjoy every moment of their day thanks to the incredible work of Allison Turner from Live, Love, Plan (http://www.liveloveplan.ca/) who not only planned and coordinated their wedding but also ran with the event design and breathtaking Vintage theme with such unique ideas. To compliment Allison's beautiful work, our friends Vanessa and Sophie from Sparrow Floral (http://www.sparrowfloraldesign.ca/) created such one-of-a-kind and impressive floral and decor vignettes that tied in beautifully with the Vintage theme and Allison's work. To add to the perfect day, we were also thrilled to have an opportunity to work with Kate Klenavic and the team from the Whalesbone (http://www.thewhalesbonecatering.com/) who did an amazing job with catering the entire event. And for icing on the cake, we had the pleasure of working with Melanie Rebane Photography (http://www.melanierebanephotography.com/) who provided us with these exceptional photos and video montage show above. We enjoyed every single moment of this incredible wedding and getting to know such wonderful people along the way. Best wishes to Sarah and Steve! We look forward to seeing you again!

Stonefields is an exclusive stunning outdoor event destination for weddings, private parties, corporate retreats and community functions.

Set on a pre-confederation farm with 120 acres, STONEFIELDS rich heritage dates back to 1816 when it was first settled by the Hawkins family. Since that time, the property has evolved into a charming country retreat.

STONEFIELDS is located in Beckwith/Carleton Place just 40 minutes from downtown Ottawa and 20 kilometers west of the capital's high-tech sector.

The unique property features a historical stone farmhouse, picture-perfect log buildings and charming country gardens. STONEFIELDS events are hosted under white tents from May through October.

WEDDINGS: exclusive, timeless and intimate

Your wedding day should be all about you. That's why STONEFIELDS hosts only one wedding per day. Enjoy the intimate and private setting that is exclusively yours to share with your guests.

Choose between an open air wedding ceremony with rolling fields and country barns as your backdrop or a ceremony on the front lawn in front of the stone farmhouse, followed by a poolside cocktail hour and finally your reception under a white tent in the Courtyard. Maximum capacity is 225 guests. Special arrangements can be made for larger groups.

STONEFIELDS is pleased to be working with two fabulous caterers to provide flexibility in pricing and offerings. Our catering partners are Thyme and Again Creative Catering and Scrumptious Creative Catering. STONEFIELDS works closely with its catering partners to craft delicious seasonal menus perfectly suited to your special day. From appetizers through to main course and late-night fare, our talented chefs will surprise your senses and satisfy your guests' discerning tastes. Our Wedding Coordinating team will support you in selecting the best catering option and menu choices to fulfill the foodie in you.

ENTICING ENTERTAINMENT:
At STONEFIELDS, we believe in a good party. That's why we have partnered exclusively with Quality Entertainment to provide the best DJ packages in town. If live music is what you have in mind, we can work with Quality Entertainment to provide you with a long list of options or you're welcome to choose your musicians or band.

1. Bridal Party Bliss - Gather the girls and get ready for your big day in the stunning STONEFIELDS farmhouse. Bring your own hairdresser and makeup artist. The package includes full use of the Farmhouse addition including the Great Room which boasts log walls, cathedral ceilings and a stone fireplace making it a picture-perfect location to start your day.

2. Wedding Rehearsal Packages: Host your wedding rehearsal at Stonefields. We offer exclusive use of our property from 5-9pm with full bar service. We can also make arrangements for catering for your rehearsal evening. Whether you want appetizers or a meal, we have a range of rehearsal menus to choose from.

3. Wedding Cakes: Stonefields has partnered with the Sophie Bifield Cake Company to bring you a selection of wedding cakes that will have your guests asking for more. Beautifully crafted and scrumptiously delicious, your Sophie Bifield Cake will be the centerpiece of youre vent, leaving your guests inspired and in awe.

4. Fairytale Endings: Partnered with
710 Excursions, we offer a horse-drawn carriage ride for your wedding day. Picture your wedding day arrival on a stunning white carriage. After exchanging vows, you are taken away for a romantic ride with your new spouse. Following your photo shoot, you arrive in style to your dinner reception for your Grand Entrance.

New in 2012 and beyond

1. Washrooms: We have built brand new washroom facilities which will offer the usual comforts of indoor plumbing and will be attached to the main tent. No more portable washrooms!

2. Exclusive Partnerships: We have partnered with some of Ottawa's Premier vendors to provide our guests with superior-level offerings and customer service.

3. One-Stop Shop: We have created all-inclusive packages to provide couples with a stress-free wedding. Packages are customizable and include the site rental, tent package, dishes, linens, service, licensed bar, wedding coordination, catering, DJ, and horse-drawn carriage and day of wedding preparations in the farmhouse.

4. Rentals and Furniture: We have invested in our own tents, tables and chairs for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Not only does this ensure the quality of each item but it also removes work and stress from the bride and groom as it relates to items arriving and ensuring proper setup.

5. STONEFIELDS Wedding Coordination team: will be involved in your wedding planning and wedding day by managing the coordination and requirements with STONEFIELDS vendors and package inclusions.

6. Liquor License: STONEFIELDS has just received a permanent liquor license from AGCO. We are pleased to offer a full-bar service for your wedding. We look forward to discussing your bar requirements and how we can add a special touch to your day with signature cocktails or special requests.

Stephanie and Steve embarked on a journey to combine their passion for people and hosting events with their dream of owning a farm. After a long search for the right location, they were drawn to Beckwith/Carleton Place for its scenic beauty, historic elements, economic development, diversity and welcoming spirit. They are now the proud owners of a unique property that Stephanie and Steve have transformed into an Event Destination. Together, they have over 15 years of experience in planning and managing private parties, weddings, themed events, fundraisers, reunions, corporate functions and team building activities. “Dear Stephanie and Steve, It has been a long, long journey since February when Michelle and I first got engaged and we're finally just now "settled" into our apartment in Toronto. After months of planning, traveling, and celebrating, we've finally come to the E-.... beginning! It's time to start this new chapter of our lives for real! Alas, we cannot thank you two enough
for the role that you played in accompanying us during this leg of our journey. You guys have made a stereotypically stressful time (wedding planning) not only lite on stress, but also exciting and enjoyable. None of this would have been the same without you. Therefore, allow me to express some of our gratitude with a detailed review of our experience with Stonefields so that you might continue to learn and offer an awesome wedding service to future patrons. FINDING STONEFIELDS - Finding a venue after we got engaged was not easy. We were looking for something outdoor but not overly manicured/traditional. We were looking for something with character and a rustic feel. Initially we had no idea Stonefields existed and no one we knew had heard of it either. We contacted a number of different places before discovering Stonefields. INITIAL CONTACT - You guys were extremely easy to contact. Stephanie's reply came to us fairly quickly compared to other venues we had contacted. SELLING POINTS - So many things to share here. For brevity's sake I'm going to list them and describe each one in brief. 1) Consolidated Vendors. This was
huge and probably one of the best things about Stonefields. That we could limit our choices to just a few vendors/prices combinations made our life so much easier (abundant choices is overrated in our day!). Not only do you guys offer this, but you offer it in a clear, organized manner that makes it easy to
understand and choose. 2) Cost. I don't
know how you guys do it, to be honest. Your wedding services were on the very cheap end of the spectrum. (Thank you!) The combination of vendor services is
also a wonderful way to keep cost down and that was super attractive for us. You guys continually worked with us and our budget. If I had to write sound
bite for you, it would say: "Stephanie and Steve continually worked with us to make our budget work for a customized wedding. They suggested ways to cut
our costs while also trying to fulfill our custom vision." :) So, anyway, the COST of your services was a big selling point (no pun intended). 3) Venue. This is a no-brainer. The farm itself is a selling point. Steve's landscaping and maintenance of the grounds are exceptional. As I mentioned above, we didn't want something that was overly manicured (looking like the Queen's estate or something), but we wanted something that looked more natural, and that's exactly the kind of approach you guys have there at the farm. It also doesn't hurt to have centuries old buildings :) 4) Stephanie and Steve. It goes without stating that working with Stephanie and Steve is a selling point, but I think I ought to name them
explicitly here. In so many other venues the wedding couple must hire their own wedding coordinator or act as coordinators themselves. Not the case with
Stonefields. With Stonefields you get two of the best wedding coordinators any couple could ask for. Stephanie and Steve are a perfect team for planning a
wedding. They each offer different gifts to the process including organization, communication, and creativity, while both are enthusiastic and love what they do. Michelle and I were both taken aback when we stopped in to visit because Stephanie and Steve dropped what they were doing to give us a tour and have us in for coffee and conversation as if we were old friends. There is just the right amount of business and friendship; formal and informal. Stephanie
and Steve were on top of every detail while not holding on to them as if plans were set in stone. They are flexible and willing to adjust as plans proceed. It's obvious that Stephanie and Steve actually care about you as a couple because they want your day to go
well. They are literally thinking about your wedding day - even when you are not - because they're hoping and planning to make it awesome. And that is why they feel like friends: because they actually care. I could go on and on. REHEARSAL, WEDDING DAY, ETC.- - OK. What can I say about the day itself? It was awesome. It's hard to offer much criticism because everything was just amazing. 1) Rehearsal - This
went well and we were thankful for your willingness to have us stop in to rehearse. I think that the rehearsals are extremely important and I've been to a lot of BAD ones! But you guys made it easy for everyone to be there and get familiar with the farm and the ceremony procedure. 2) Wedding Party Preparations at the farm - Having the stone house and pub house was really
convenient and worth the money. Michelle was reluctant to pay that money for the houses and we talked about it many times, but in the end were really happy that we had it. Our photographer, Mary, said that it would be good to have, especially since we were doing all our photos beforehand. It was very
helpful and we're glad we did it. 3) Ceremony - AWESOME. Don't know what to say about this. Stonehouse locale was great; nice and cool in the
shade. 4) Cocktail Hour - Everyone loved this and so did we! It is a great location to move from ceremony to cocktail hour by the pool. My only suggestion here is to make the sign more readable (window sign; in fact, all window signs were hard to read). I found it difficult to read and I have kickass vision. So I imagine there were probably others who couldn't read it.
Still, all necessary information was communicated verbally so that the sign is not imperative. Just thought to mention it. 5) Reception - We
were really happy with the tent reception. The tent layout is fantastic, especially for our size wedding. We thought there was enough space for everyone. The sweetheart table was great and I would highly recommend it for others who wish to seat their friends with spouses/partners. The sitting space
outside the tent = AWESOME. I'm sure you already know this, but the tall tables outside the dance floor were super great for our smoking guests and the sitting tables on the side of the tent were so perfect for people who wanted to relax under the stars. We really liked these elements and would think that any
wedding party would make good use of such great additions. Honestly, it is difficult to find negative criticisms. We were extremely satisfied and
happy with our wedding day and we owe so much of that to you guys. Thank you for everything. Expect to hear from us again! :) With Love, Josh & Michelle”
